GIVING UP THE WORLD FOR CHRIST Q. Sometimes it appears so daunting and heavy to have to let go of everything of this world which has become so familiar and comfortable. A. There has never been, nor will there ever be, a valid reason to place worldly concerns before the Work of Salvation. Ponder deeply on this message. The time is now. If we cannot completely and unconditionally dedicate ourselves - mind, body and spirit - to Christ right now, this very instant (which is the only time that exists in all eternity) and commit ourselves to the 100% degree that is necessary to know success, how will we be able to do it at any later date (which, being the future, does not exist)? While ego says 'tomorrow', Spirit insists 'now or never'. The highest law in the universe is the Law of Right. We should always do what is right by our own divine Soul, even if it means upsetting egos (which, of course, it will) or losing 'friends'. If we do not listen truly to our conscience (the voice of the divine spark) 100% of the time, then we will like ourselves less, we will fall into traps designed to teach us via pain, and our vibratory rate of consciousness will fall, leaving us wide open for auric infection by our unseen brothers of shadow. Q. Many responsibilities of this Earth are infecting this being. No new ones are being taken on, but to ignore those existing would be troubling. Oh, the guilt of society. Oh, the trauma. To be released of that. A. We only have one single responsibility, and that is to Christ. If we choose to allow society/family/environment
to infect us with guilt etc. (our choice, not theirs), then we may as
well go and lie in the morgue. There can be no compromise for those who
tread the Lighted Way. Q. Having already studied and to some extent absorbed some of the teachings, I feel that I now have a greater insight into the underlying causalities of occult interference in my life, in particular when one takes the impure nature of self into account. However, the whole concept underlying the Truths presented, challenges all former ideology in regard to the nature of man. A. The divine Soul is very interested in the Gnosis, so as you throw overboard all your previous concepts and beliefs in order to replace them with the Truth (which is a Living Reality and not a teaching), your spiritual eyes will again open wide and you will remember. Q. I am extremely interested in spreading your teachings. I need a bit more time to assimilate all of this new material. A. Understood. Take your time. However, please know that these are not our teachings; The Pure Gnosis constitutes the Teaching of all the Avatars, the Gnosis. Having unearthed this great Treasure, we wish only to fulfil our duty to mankind by sharing what we have found with anyone who is open-minded and interested. In Purpose there is Joy, and in Joy begins our Liberation. Q. I noticed you mentioned the number 9 as being the number of completion. How true, since there is no such thing as nothingness........ True mathematics or Cosmic rule "Law"is based on 9's from what I personally have learned. Natural balance being Pos. & Neg.= Results/Completion (3), then three of those three packages together makes 9 within the whole final completion. A. The greatest enlightened Teachers have always told us to 'seek and you will find'. The Buddha said that if we seek the Truth with diligence and detachment we will find it and it will liberate us. However, remember that Truth is a paradox to the unenlightened mind; the intellect can never understand it, for the intellect vibrates far below it. Other spiritual faculties must be accessed and used in order to really See and Know. It appears that you may be attempting to understand the universe with your intellect. Therefore, and in solely employing an extremely limited faculty, we deem that you would not be able to receive the living Gnosis at all, but perhaps might be disposed to merely dissect it mentally, as would a scholar, while comparing it with your existing 'knowledge', which is not Knowing, or Gnosis. This is not the purpose of the Teaching of the Avatars, which can never be understood with the mind alone but which seeks to Call upon the soul of a spiritual aspirant, not to further clutter the mind with concepts which, as symbols, can, at the very best, only point to the Living Truth itself. Q. I am very happy with life, and to the point that the world could go into rollover and it would not affect me at all. I get a lot of responses like, "Why does nothing bother you?" or "I can't believe that you're not worried about this". A. Since you are "very happy*" where you are, then you will not possess the urgent seeking element that is a prerequisite for success on the Path of the Divine Mysteries. In your somewhat nonchalant attitude towards receiving the Teaching of the Avatars you demonstrate a lack of Right Attitude, which is so vitally important; indeed, it appears that your cup is already full. Did you know that the intellect may know all about the Truth, yet still remain far distant from it experientially? * And we would also query what kind of happiness is it that suffers not alongside its neighbour's misery, which is everywhere apparent on Earth today? As you have observed, there is great suffering on Earth, and this essentially parallels and is inseparably related to the severe lack of a humble Seeking attitude in the world today amongst humankind; a painful absence of yearning for God, for Truth. Most esoteric and religious groups are little more than clearing stations for ideas and opinions. But in making statements about what we believe, we will never invite the living Truth (which is not a belief) to make its home in our hearts. "All of life is suffering; but there is freedom from suffering." - Lord Buddha. The aspirant for freedom from suffering must thirst; he must also acknowledge that he actually knows nothing compared to Cosmic Consciousness, and then he must become a Seeker, for if we do not empty ourselves of all notions, ideas and concepts and Seek like a child, then we will not Find. "Old bottles cannot contain New Wine", and the Truth is always New. That is why it is so liberating, so glorious. Theoretical speculators - philosophers - die confused and unfulfilled. They then have to reincarnate in the world of birth, suffering and death yet again in order to try once more to realize the Goal of earthly existence, which they may only do in Seeking the Truth with an all-consuming, uncompromising and selfless zeal. There is much in the Gnostic Teaching that would utterly challenge your existing belief system, yet please permit us to say that these teachings are sacred and are therefore better withheld from mere academic scrutiny. Studying them would be like attempting to sow seeds on sand. Right Attitude is the first requirement on the Path that leads through all the multifarious distractions and illusions of the fallen, undivine universe in which ailing humanity presently struggles to exist, and on to the summit of the mount of life and spiritual attainment (Remembrance). Yet without Right Attitude, not even the very first step onto the Lighted Way may be taken, and we shall remain in the realm of suffering and delusion - over countless incarnations if necessary - until we cry out from that place within ourselves that is beyond the limited mind, and so merit a response from Divinity. Q. I am happy, as I have said, and if I cannot demonstrate inner peace and joy, then of what use am I to others? A. How can Joy and Peace ever be experienced in a world that is constantly atrophying, dying, and where all things swing to their opposite, e.g., happiness/sorrow, elation/depression, pleasure/pain, good/evil, etc.? No true and lasting Happiness or Joy can ever be found in this existence that humanity mistakenly calls 'life' but which is actually a living death: "All life is suffering." - The Buddha. There is something fundamental that you do not yet understand about the universe in which you exist; a universe where everything is aging, deteriorating, dying, even in the womb when we are babies. If God is perfect, then why is this creation on Earth so imperfect, so painful for everyone? Or is it perhaps that this creation is not the work of a perfect God? If you believe that you are 'happy' and that you know 'peace', then all I may say is that the happiness and peace that you experience is of a very different nature and quality to that of divine Happiness and Peace (Bliss), which is, of course, the ultimate re-attainment of all undivine, unenlightened life-forms. Q. To answer your major question about Joy and Peace: I rarely use quotes unless they have a very strong meaning to them, and the one that I will use to explain this in short is, "I shall not be moved." Referring to a Rock or Mountain as it was originally meant, it is super strong, stands up to the harsh elements, takes a beating from eons of change, and faces the very extremes that this world brings to its face, but it still remains in its unmovable state. . . until man pounds it to powder with his own hands, and this is where the very problem with this world stems from. Notice that what I just explained is observed naturally, but it is probably difficult to see if one solely observes or has been taught to observe that this world is totally and completely out of order. A. But your example is not true or pertinent to our discussion, for a rock is not unmoving. Like everything else in matter the elementary wave-forms within its atomic structure are rising and passing away trillions of times per second as is all energy in this illusion that we call 'life', in the created universe. As you know, the rock is slowly being eroded by the elements and so is changing and is being moved. Whatever changes, fades and dies cannot be eternal and therefore cannot be unchangeably happy. Do you see to what I am here pointing? Even the loftiest mountain ultimately must change, must eventually die. All matter is in a constant state of flux, nothing is permanent, nothing can be depended upon in this illusion of undivine existence that we have fallen into. All existence in duality is in motion. Only that which is Divine and Eternal is motionless (yet Dynamic and Alive). Since the "I" of you is a part of the dualistic universe of rising and fading, to say that "I shall not be moved" is not truthful. For further scientific argument regarding the nature of the cosmic delusion, our sham reality, you may wish to read the chapter in Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi entitled 'The Law of Miracles'. Can you assure me that tomorrow you will not know great pain and woe, perhaps due to some unexpected disease arising in your life? And how can you be sure that your 'happiness' will be maintained, for example, if you contracted AIDS or cancer? Have you never visited a children's hospice or hospital and asked yourself why? Why all the suffering? Why is happiness so fleeting in this world, even in the innocent play of childhood? Why all the imperfection? And as a logical kind of person, you surely recognize that if imperfection exists, then so must its opposite: Perfection, for one is meaningless without the other. It is this Perfection to which we point humanity, not least because we have experienced it and when one's heart is touched by the Joy of the Divine, one is simply impelled to reach out to others with the good news, for that is how the intelligent Cosmic Force of Love works. Note the functioning of the sun, as just one tiny example of the dynamic Intelligence of Love, which is the essence of the Universe, unimaginable by the intellect. Compared to the Bliss of which I speak, the Bliss of which all humanity seeks (because it has lost it and wants to find it again), "there are very, very few truly Happy people in this world!" Note the use of quotation marks here in accordance with your own system of emphasis of important statements. Q. This whole world and universe is in a constant state of birth and death at the same time, an endless cycle.........I think this is what you are referring to? A. Yes, change,
impermanence, oscillation, agitation, restlessness. The universe, in
not leaving us in peace, is trying to tell us something. Q. But the key is not to harbor solely on the constant natural order of decay that is everywhere present throughout the universe, but to understand that it is also the ever newness and birth at the same time....A natural cycle with plant, mineral, animal, and human alike. Without this natural order of "God", the intelligence that saturates all matter and form and keeps this order in place, people would not last but two days on any planet.....Then it would certainly be out of order, out of balance. A. Understood and agreed. Our merciful God (Universal Intelligence, Tao) clearly gives us opportunities for new life and understanding. But again we always come back to this question that if God is the Perfect, Loving One that scripture and wise men have ever averred, then why all the imperfection? If you were a father of children, why would you force them to suffer, as does humanity? It doesn't make sense for a loving Father-Creator to do this. Something is clearly amiss here on Earth, and when we experienc just a droplet of Bliss - true Happiness - then we know it beyond any shadow of intellectual doubt. So what has gone wrong and why? This is the perennial question that burns in the soul of every intelligent person; it is also an innate expression of an ancient longing to rediscover Perfection, to re-attain Liberation from suffering, forever. If that Perfect Happiness did not exist or was unattainable, then why the natural impulse within us all to improve, to better ourselves, to find perfect Happiness, which we all sense exists? This impulse arises from the perfect divine Spark within the soul, the only divine remnant left in fallen, crystallized mankind on Earth. It is like a whisper from Home urging us perpetually to return to Paradise. This alone will give man no rest, no peace and no true happiness as long as he perpetuates his own misery by identifying with the illusory universe as being real. With regard to what you earlier mentioned about your own disbelief in different dimensions/worlds. Look to your own heart and soul. Do you not observe there a desire for something more than this paltry existence, this temporal existence of perpetual birth, decay and death? This world is actually an illusion born in the minds of beings by the unwise use of free will over the ages. And if you feel that other realities do not exist, then where does your waking consciousness go when you are in deep sleep? And is not the dreamtime another parallel reality? Q. Your words are very true again, this world does seem like a top ready to flip over from all the diseases, sickness and crime. But "God", as people call it, is not imperfect, but is made imperfect by man's ego-will opposing the natural law, which order is perfect, precise and orderly. . . A. Yes. But can you see that Law operating Perfectly anywhere amongst life on Earth? Can we really call death, disease, decay, putrefaction and suffering 'Perfect'? And if you are also subject to these blights on your own personal being, then you must be infringing the universal laws, too, no? So how can you look forward to eternal happiness thus? Q. . . .This world is made painful only by not knowing oneself or understanding the source of the imbalance. All creation is certainly constructed divinely, but made undivine by lack of understanding the world that the wayward ones reside in. This lack of understanding ourselves and this world results in the conditions we find ourselves involved with. . . A. Well said. Ignorance and evil are very closely related. Yet if you and I suffer and die, if we partake in an imperfect existence, then we, too, must be guilty of ignorance, of evil therefore, to some degree, no? If we are therefore 'sinning' (Old English: means to 'cut across', to 'go against'... Natural Divine Law), then we, too, are contributing towards hell on Earth; we, too, are therefore guilty of creating further misery here, perhaps for our own children to experience after we have been turned to dust (again proving that the 'I' of us has no permanence and therefore no reality). Is this not logical and true? If this is true and we are indeed contributing towards the general world chaos and pain, then is this not justification enough to Seek something better, something more real, something true and lasting? Is this not what all the wise men, such as Krsna, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Jesus, etc. have been trying to guide us towards? Is this Seeking and Finding not the sole purpose of life? Can anyone ever be truly satisfied before the true Life is found? Q. . . .It is like a person who is afraid of a lion. Although, by choosing to learn about the animal, facing it, and understanding it's personality and nature, this same person, if he chose, could stick his head in the lion's mouth without breaking a bead of sweat off his brow........All because he took the time to study his source of fear, despair, woe, and now understands it. Unmoved, unaffected, at peace with the threat only inches away. Now, on the other hand, if one acts in fear of this animal, it will know instinctively by one's thoughts and actions and may turn to tear you apart. This same scenario is what is going on in this world. A world (as with any other) that is directly effected by the understanding, actions, and thoughts of people that dwell on it's surface. If it is dreaded and feared, it will be a dread and threat the whole time. If it is understood and studied, it will be a pleasant life in the face of constant threats that are created by others. And if the planet's inhabitants as a whole have understanding of both the positive and the negative aspects of life (The Natural Balance), it is then a world that lives under divine plan or law, and does not suffer any of the harsh conditions that are considered hell in a hand basket. . . A. Well there is subtle error here, which demonstrates again that you are depending on your very limited intellectual faculty to interpret the Truth, the Reality of things, which is impossible to do. For how can a scientist with his microscope understand the living, vibrating Reality that is the Cause behind the microscope itself? How can the tiny part understand the Whole unless it becomes one with the Whole? What I am saying is that we may only observe and understand that which we focus upon. If this world of phenomena (not noumena, note) is focussed upon by the phenomenal mind of man, then how will he ever understand the noumena that is the living Reality behind all phenomena? Mankind has been trying to understand this world of changing appearances for ages and ages, yet still suffering and misery exists. So why has mankind not overcome this? The answer is: because he is looking in the wrong direction. He is trying to understand an illusion, which has no absolute reality and therefore all his efforts amount to a hopeless, utterly futile pursuit. This is why the fallen universe is restless, leaving no person alone and at peace, and this is why no true happiness and peace may be found in this world, ever. It is also why all realized beings eventually leave this world entirely, in order to return to the divine Universe, which vibrates above the created universe. "My Kingdom is not of this world." - Jesus. The Gnosis explains this clearly for those with eyes to see. However, if one is not yet Seeking the Truth, if one believes he or she already knows the Truth, then one will not be able to See and so take benefit from the liberating Teaching of the Christed Ones. This is our point with regard to yourself. If you believe that you are already happy and living in Truth, in Bliss, then your cup is full and you will not be able to receive any new Wine. Indeed, if you are already there, then you will have no interest or need to further utilize your limited intellect to study anything, including our writings, for which you have applied. Furthermore, if you truly are Enlightened, if you had already reached the Goal of supreme Wisdom, then in radiating Christ-Consciousness (divine Love) would you not be attracting spiritual aspirants in the thousands, as did Buddha, Jesus, Lao Tzu, etc.? And if not, then why are you not a Seeker like the rest of us? If I am not in a state of divine ecstasy, then I know I have further to go and so Seek. This is fundamental reasoning, no? If I do not Seek in the right way and for the
right reasons, then I will never Find, and I will, under the
insuperable Law of Cause and Effect, find myself back yet again on the
wheel of birth, suffering and death in this illusion we call 'life' to
try once more to find the Philosopher's Stone, the Summum Bonum, the
Jewel in the Lotus, the one Goal of all unenlightened life. Once we
understand these things there is no other sane choice but to Seek True
Life, and this is the most wonderful journey in the world, for in it
there is Purpose, and where there is divine Purpose there is also Joy. Q. Studying the Gnosis I am confronted with many things. I feel as though everything I have considered 'real' and 'enlightening' has been shattered. A. The True Path is not for the faint of heart. Q. I do, however, remain determined to continue to search for answers. A. A saint is a
sinner who never gave up, as the saying goes. Q. I am amazed! These truths are very new to me and have caused me to become troubled. Is there a message of love here somewhere, or is the Gnosis just something that plummets us deeper into the realms of duality? A. Truth and Love are inseparable. Truth offered selflessly in seeking to serve the afflicted soul of humanity bears the energy of Love within it. A great many people speak about Love and Truth but actually know neither. For what is perceived as "love" to the grasping ego has little to do with the Holy Fire that is divine Love and which urges the soul to transfigurtion by revealing the Truth. From The New Call:
Love has no need to announce itself. It is either recognized and received by those who are able, or it is overlooked. No amount of words about Love will assist the person with scales on their eyes to recognize its presence. Love permeates the universe, even the fallen world. We may find it only in selfless spiritual service to all life, and in order to truly Serve - spiritually - Knowledge is vital. Unfortunately, humanity has long been deceived by false teachings spread abroad everywhere over the millennia. This is why the Truth is often quite shocking for most people and why Jesus warned that we would become troubled and astonished. You will find our other books more. . . palatable perhaps, since they were written with the general public in mind. The Gnosis, however, is the inner teaching, the Teaching of the Avatars, and is not given to many for reasons you are now able to recognize. If you were to indiscriminately share the Gnostic wisdom with others, you would find that you were making enemies everywhere, just like Jesus, Buddha and all the Avatars of yore. If serious and intelligent seekers are not making enemies in this world, then perhaps they are compromised in some way. Q. Are we, from here on out, to view this whole existence with a sense of detachment? A. If we are wise, yes! Where there exists true Faith, there is no place for attachment in any form. Faith may be born from applied Knowledge leading to experience. Many are called but few choose themselves to participate in the forthcoming Glory at the end of the Piscean age. Most flee from the revealing Truth; that is why we must love the Truth with all our being in order that we may become one with It. Compromise always leads to failure on the Path. During the coming upheavals, if we do not love the Truth and live for It, then we cannot be protected from the long-prophesied tempest and all its destructiveness. |
