Q. Why are there so many references made in your teaching to Jesus the Christ and various other quotations sourced back to the Christian tradition? Is it because the people most able to be reached in the West are generally more familiar with the Christian biblical paradigm or because, since Jesus is the most recent and better known Avatar, his teaching takes pre-eminence over Buddha's teaching or other religious traditions? Is it that the Christ-Consciousness is a universal template for divine assistance to bring back lost souls, and Jesus was the man who most perfectly embodied this reality so far?
A. Well, actually you have answered your own question within the question. True Christianity (not churchianity, of course) is a complete and advanced religion. It is the religion of Unity Consciousness in Christ (divine Love). It is the religion of true spiritual fellowship (or Brotherhood as it has been called in past).
Jesus came to set the new pattern for humankind on Earth. He came to plant the seeds of Christ-Consciousness 2,000 years ago; seeds that are today being nurtured and grown and which shall blossom here on Earth in the New World.
Jesus also came to show the Way, the One Way of Transfiguration. Reading Alice Bailey's 'From Bethlehem to Calvary' is recommended. Jesus' example demonstrated the Way of Love, which is the Way out of the fallen kingdom through the Christine Gate. Christ is synonymous with Love; so for humankind the immediate Path that leads back to the divine Kingdom (where the fallen human life-wave may again resume its onward evolutionary progress) is the Way of Love.
Other Avatars (e.g., Krishna) also taught and demonstrated this Way of Love. Krishna-Consciousness and Christ-Consciousness are one and the same, yet expressed slightly differently through the respective divine Incarnations in their own unique time and culture.
The Buddha also opened up this Way but in addition he gave the keys to the Higher Evolution (something which humanity today need not concern itself with, even if it could understand). The Buddha demonstrated a more advanced aspect of the Logos than Jesus. Buddha embodied the Wisdom or Intelligence aspect of the Logos, while Jesus demonstrated Its Love aspect. Today, the Group-Avatar (or Avatar of Synthesis) embodies all three aspects of the Trinity - Love, Active Intelligence and Will (or Power). This is in line, of course, with the completion of a major world-cycle, not only for humankind but for the Earth and also for the solar Deity. Hence the imminent solar Initiation. This also explains why we are having so much solar activity today.
Furthermore, Jesus is also such a good example because most people in the world accept him as a divine model and so can benefit from comparing principles of the universal Truth to his exemplary life. Jesus was a true Christian. Anyone who wishes to attain the Final Liberation must also be a true Christian, and thus follow the perfect example given us by Jesus.
Q. Am I wrong in feeling that the actual crucifixion was, indeed, just that - cruci-FICTION?
A. Jesus' crucifixion was a real and physical event, but its symbolic significance was far greater than simply one man's persecution and execution.DID JESUS DIE FOR HUMANITY'S SINS?
Q. I have been looking in the Bible for a place where Jesus actually stated that he was dying for our sins, as the Christian religion has taught. I am not done looking but as of yet I do not find that place. I only find him stating that his death would be a ransom. In other studies I came to believe that what took place was an alchemical transformation and that through this death of the physical it allowed the Christ-Consciousness to be infused into the Earth itself and raise the vibration of the entire planet.
A. This latter is the truth of it. A seed of Christ-Consciousness was 'planted' in the Earth-matrix 2,000 years ago by or rather through Jesus, to come to flower globally in these, our times, by the tending of the '144,000', the Servers of the Divine Plan. Jesus was not only teaching the masses on his long pilgrimage around the world (the details of which have been omitted from the New Testament), he was also working with various vortexes and ley-lines around the planet.
It is Christ who dies on behalf of humanity (its sins) inasmuch as whenever the Holy Spirit enters the fallen world of time and space it 'dies' spiritually, being incarcerated in matter (the Greek legend of the Medusa turning Perseus to stone also portrays this esoteric fact), and when the Christ-Spirit successfully transfigures a microcosm, it dies again, this time to the fallen universe and is reborn in the divine Universe, again on behalf of fallen humanity, as both an exemplar and surrogate. Of course, humanity having lost sight of the Gnostic Wisdom Teaching has greatly misinterpreted/simplified the esoteric truth of this.
There are very unholy forces and entities attached to the disfigured Bible, first anchored there by the same minds that either unconsciously or consciously, unwittingly or purposefully, changed the original texts. Thus your consciousness may become confused by reading certain parts of it (and don't even entertain the idea of reading most of the Old Testament for better understanding!)
The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi is recommended for historical answers rather than the Bible, the latter of which, as you know, has been greatly modified and adulterated over the millennia. However, history being an illusion of 'past', it is ultimately better to leave it be completely and just find the Living Christ in the eternal present.
Q. Was this crucifixion simply to show that each of us must die to the physical to give ourselves to the will of our Creator?
A. Yes it was, to sacrifice the lower self completely on the altar of service to humanity. Jesus knew that such a radically-demonstrated Passion Play would remain alive in the minds of men for centuries afterwards and so provide an historical and allegorical example of the Way to Life. Jesus demonstrated the Lighted Way not only in his teaching, therefore, but also in his actual life. This is one of the things that made him so special. Previous Avatars on Earth (to our knowledge) had not so perfectly demonstrated the Path of Transfiguration in such a thoroughly symbolical and concrete way, although they also exemplified living under the Law of Sacrifice by way of their loving Service to mankind.
Of course, the crucifixion of Jesus the Christ also exemplifies the inevitable persecution that will be experienced by all those in duality who serve the Divine Plan of Salvation and thus also the Christ-Hierarchy.
